Pastor

Brad Urlaub

Pastor Urlaub earned an undergraduate degree in Philosophy from Northern Illinois University and graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis in 2012. With his energy and passion of leadership and teaching, he invites others to follow Christ with him so we can all “Learn about Christ to Live like Christ and Love who Christ loves.” His greatest love (second only to God) is his wife, Sabrina. Her love and encouragement keeps him going (not to mention her amazing cooking!). In May 2017, God blessed Pastor Urlaub and Sabrina with their beautiful daughter, Ariana, through adoption. If Pastor Urlaub isn’t doing ministry you’ll find him with Sabrina and Ariana biking, walking, playing games, enjoying dance parties, or writing music on his guitar.

Secretary

Sharon Langford

Sharon has been working remotely since 2020 and handles publications such as our weekly bulletin and monthly newsletter. Her husband, Doug, is the Lead Pastor of Edgewood Free Methodist Church in Pittsford. They have two children, Nicole and Dylan and a son-in-law, Max. Sharon enjoys date nights with Doug, reading, pickleball and cross-country skiing.

Organist

Monica Smith

Monica has been our Organist and Music Director since she graduated from college. Ask, and she’ll tell you that Sunday is the high point of her week! Monica has worked in the auto industry as a title clerk under familiar Rochester dealers: Van Bortel, Bonosky, Cortese, Farnsworth and Hastings. She has a heart for animals, fostering dogs and cats and volunteering Saturdays at Lollypop Farms, Humane Society of Greater Rochester.

Kristen Waterstram-Rich

Kristen is retired from the faculty at Rochester Institute of Technology. Her late husband was a retired faculty member of Nazareth College. She enjoys serving on the Board of Directors of HCR Cares (Home Care Research), gardening, and spending time with family and friends. As Council President, Kristen works closely with the Pastor and leaders of the congregation to carry out the mission and ministry of our church. She’s happy to answer your questions about St. Mark or to welcome you as a new leader!

Board of Elders, Chairman

Guenther Heiss

Guenther and his wife, Margaret, have been members of St. Mark since the mid-90s. They enjoy travelling and spending time with their children and grandchildren, who are spread from California to Florida and New York. After a long career in business, Guenther leads our Board of Elders, which assists our pastor in tending to the spiritual needs of the congregation. If you have questions about worship or pastoral care, Guenther would be happy to chat with you!
